I wake up this morning and see that the same persistent, thick-skulled people keep coming here unrelentlessly asking the same questions over and over again; this is despite my prior clarifications. I have decided to make one final clarification and close the matter. My real life friends who know who I am have also said that my keeping silent is allowing these villagers to unnecessarily drag real life people into trouble. I hope that this post will end the matter once and for all. I am sorry if some of these points are obvious to more intelligent people, but it seems that sometimes, the obvious needs to be pointed out.
A. The point of this blog
I was encouraged to start this blog by some friends I made on cozycot. Although in the beginning it may have to be to give another perspective on the Dawn Yang matter, the nature and purpose of this blog has grown and widened. I am now using it to pen my thoughts on a variety of matters I feel are more important, in the larger scheme of things, than a spat between 2 bloggers, one of them being my friend notwithstanding.
Out of 23 posts I have made, only 6 have been on Dawn Yang. And to be honest, now that Dawn Yang is gone, and if she decides not to pursue the lawsuit, I doubt I will post anymore about this here. It is these trolls who refuse to let the issue die. Yesterday I posted 2 posts - one about income inequality in Singapore and the other, about Dawn Yang. I was hoping for more comments on the former and yet, these people insists on kicking up a ruckus on the more trivial latter.
B. My Identity
1. I am female. This is incontrovertibly so. I am however, what my friends call an alpha-female, some say a bitch. I am aggressive, I do write like a man - in fact, if you meet me in a non-social situation, you will find that I 'act' like a man too.
I however find this very offensive and goes to the heart of how I feel woman should behave - perhaps I will blog about this one day. Everyday I fight the stereotypes of how a woman should behave - why should a woman write in one way, and a man another? Is a woman not allowed to be pugnacious without being catty? Can we not be rational and fight on issues rather than on personalities and mudslinging? Do we have to be vindictive and petty? Can we not be like men and learn to see the forest for the trees? It is no wonder that men stereotype us when most of the villagers that were cyberbullying Dawn, and now relentlessly trying to find out about me, and dragging other people into the mud, are female. Please, let us rise above these stereotypes. If we want to fight men on a level playing field, we need to make sure we do not conform to stereotypes first.
I grew up admiring Margaret Thatcher and always will.
2. I am not Dawn Yang
Let's get this over with. This should be obvious but I still feel a need to state it to the stupid. Compare her blog and mine - can we possibly be the same person? No.
2. I am not Bill Cheng
I have met the chap a couple of times when he was hanging out with Dawn. But I am not him. The 'evidence' that ties me to him is laughably flimsy - some statements by anonymous people that is now taken to be the 'truth'.
Just because Bill dated Dawn does not mean that he is me.
SPECULATION is NOT EVIDENCE.
Anonymous people speculating on the internet is even less evidence.
3. I am not Calvin Cheng
I have also met this person a couple of times, not through Dawn but through the Oxbridge community. The same moron who set up the XXvsDY site has alleged I am him because I write like somebody who studied PPE at Oxford. Anybody with an ounce of brain will see how weak this is. Is there a typical way that Oxford PPE people write? Also, why can't somebody who reads widely in philosophy, sociology, and all manners of social sciences have the same general knowledge and training? I read SPS at Cambridge but did economics at A levels and S levels; I also have a keen interest in philosophy, history, anthropology, evolutionary biology etc.
The same moron speculated I was Calvin Cheng because there was a person on Cozycot called ERNHUI which she suspected to be Dawn Yang or her friend. She then decided that I am also connected to Ernhui. The next leap of logic was that ERN appears in Calvin Cheng's chinese name, and HUI appears in Dawn's, so Ernhui must be Calvin and Dawn. Thus, I must be Calvin Cheng.
Huh? What was that again? Does anybody intelligent even understand this train of thought?
It is probably the same people who are now asking me how I am related to Aricialam, some editor of Wikipedia who has edited Calvin Cheng's wiki page - this despite the fact that I have posted that my surname is NOT LAM.
3. I am not Darryl Martin
Honestly, I don't even know who this person is. Allegedly, he went to Cambridge like me, but I have never met him or heard of him prior to this matter. Yet people insist that I am him.
4. I am not anybody that these villagers have speculated me to be. They are very far off the mark because they REFUSE to follow the obvious.
Everything I have said about myself is true. Yet, they insist I am male, and try to find 'evidence' on the internet to 'prove' that I am these people, now resorting to trawling wikipedia pages of people I am not connected with.
These are the same people who spend hours trying to 'prove' that Dawn Yang set up fake internet IDs on forums.
This is just pathetically sad.
In conclusion, this is as far as my revelation of my identity goes. Because of what my family does and who they are, I do not feel at liberty to reveal myself completely. This is what I have learned to live with growing up - it is the price to pay for being born into a family like this.
I hope this will close this matter once and for all. I feel very uncomfortable and slightly guilty that because of me, these innocent chaps are now subject to the 'investigation' by these sad no-lifers.
I will from now on delete all such comments.
I also sincerely hope that my other non- Dawn Yang related posts will attract more discussion than these village-inspired debates.
If the lawsuit happens, I may weigh in on the matter again. In the meantime, this is the end of it, as well as absurd speculation on my identity.

I now think it was an unfortunate choice since I chose it without knowing that Melissa Lam is a real person who once managed Dawn (I was not living in Singapore during this period). And now there is a Aricia Lam as well!

I have just been told off on the phone (again!) by a friend for even allowing this to happen.
I apologise to the abovementioned chaps if I inadvertently dragged you into this affair, and not categorically clarifying things earlier.

I would like to add that I have kept silent hitherto because this post was really unnecessary. The things I have said, they are so obvious.
I thought these villagers would stop once they realise how silly their speculations are. But I gave them too much credit.
The cyberfreaks and no-lifers are unhappy that Dawn won despite their efforts.
They tried to destroy her reputation but was snubbed by SPH and STOMP who stood by her.
In the midst of all their efforts, and by Chief Peasant Wendy Cheng to bring her down, she got a cover with 8 days, Sinapore's best selling magazine with other stars such as Fiona and Jade.
They can't stomach it. So they have turned their attention on me :)
Good luck to them. They will never find out who I am. They can continue trawling the internet, trying to link me with all sorts of people with their chimpanzee logic.
In the meantime, I hope they stir up a hornets nest enough for these people they have innocently linked to me to take action against them or their Chief Wendy Cheng.
I will continue to use my influence and power to help and protect Dawn, and to bring Wendy Cheng down.

Honestly I think Chief Peasant Xiaxue came out of this saga as the biggest loser. Now all the non peasants know her to be a low class, uncivil, mean spirited and petty loser.
While Dawn continues living a relatively carefree life, Chief Peasant has to continue in her life of drudgery.

I have met both Dawn and Wendy Cheng in real life and I have chosen to be friends with Dawn and not Wendy.
I think the Xiaxue and her fans and the hate site makers are jealous that Lady Melissa has come our from nowhere to have a blog arguably more successful than Xiaxue's (or even Dawn's).
She definitely blogs better than Xiaxie and Dawn and arguably better than Mr. Brown or Miyagi.

I have not. Like I mentioned many times before, what info available to the masses about Dawn to those who don't know her is online. Like wise for XX.
So far Dawn has given people more reasons to dislike her rather then like her. I neither like nor dislike XX, so no comment on that.
You can go and advertise your friend as an angel - you know her in person - we don't. So people tend to believe what is available to them. Call it peasanthood, call it foolishness, but surely you of all people should realized what kind of people made the bulk of the population in this world.

But I do find it offensive that you're making sweeping statements refering to some people as "villagers" and "peasants". As much as you think that they are a bunch of ignorant (by that I mean not well informed), I don't think you should just shove them into your self-created, self-opiniated social hierachy.
You write really well (obviously, and I really admire you for that, PLUS you were in my dream school), but you generalising and aggressive statements (I FEEL) more or less discredits the better points you make about those issues that you want people to care more about.

If you look at the time of melissalam\\\\\\\'s post, you will see it says 11:25am.
The morning was not over at the time of the post.
Therefore, the phrase \\\\\\\"i wake up and see...\\\\\\\" is correct.

Suing over a blog post is not ridiculous if the defendant is one of your biggest competitors and a fellow widely-read blogger.
I think Dawn should sue. I am trying to persuade her to sue. But it's not up to me at this moment...

You remind me of a lady I once knew on Lothlorien, which was a BBS some 14 years ago. It was a bulletin board on which the elite would debate on issues that matter.
I am indeed happy to have read your comments on income disparity and the rise of Asian powers. May I suggest a wonderful book by Kishore, our very own homegrown political writer that is very much respected around the world? You might enjoy that book if you have not read it already.
I shall remain a keen follower of your blog, and if some good can come out of this huge DY fiasco ( I have not followed the DY saga as I hate reading bad news or negative comments, true or untrue ) all the better.
I believe in the good of people, but I also believe in teaching a person to fish instead of giving them the fish. Programs to inculcate in them a sense of ownership of their own lives, what they can do to break out of the poverty cycle, or perhaps seed funds for them to borrow from at low interest rates should they want to start a business would be better.
I come from a middle income family, but wanted to create my own future from a very young age of 15 going on 16. I wrote a book of poetry just as I turned 16, selling it at $3 each at Substation.
It was a photocopied book, sadle stapled, and production cost was zero due to the kindness of one man who I met while calling up every printer in the yellow pages. He not only taught me typesetting, design, but also taught me how to publish a book, get an isbn number, etc. From the proceeds of that book, ( a mere $321 ) I registered my company under a friend who was 21 years old already ( I was 17 then! )and started my talent management business with just one fax machine costing $150.
So yes, I believe in teaching one to fish instead of handing out the dole.
If you are interested in a project to help the 10% poor in Singapore, I would be happy to put in time and effort as well.

I must say the toned down Melissa really makes me sit up & listen to her. I hope the xx/dy saga would just pass, really. They are both young & a lawsuit wouldn't quite do any good except for publicity that would bring more sniggers & smears. Dawn has already made her point & won. I think the very moment XX removed that posting made DY the victor. It "seems" to be that XX has chosen to smear DY anonymously in a cowardly fashion & everyone will eventually see that.

He was most certainly not poor, as he was among the first technology lawyers in Singapore and lectured in NUS on that subject as well. :)
He was a mentor of sorts and I learnt a little about business from the way he ran his. He was always very pragmatic, so throwing good money after bad was always a no no for him.
He always said, there is the small claims court for anything under 10k, don't bother getting me / my associates to act for you.

this spat has involved lots of strangers and now legal/police...kinda scary...
and some say Melissa is infact this guy named Calvin...which I somehow refused to believe..but if it is true...it will be hurting to know that we've been taken as a fool from the beginning.
though I truly very fond of Melissa, but I also don't quite agree her classifying people from peasants' mindsets to nobles' mindsets. But its her choice and if she likes to classify people, who am I (or who are we) to stop her? She has the rights to her opinion as long as she does not defame anyone in the process.
Just like XX and her supporters, if they want to dislike DY, who am I (or who are we) to stop them?
Like Melissa had said earlier, finding the right one is justice while hurting the innocents is not. (though not in her exact words but the meaning of the message is similar)
The ones defaming (if you called it defaming...while I think 'hurting' will be more apt in this case ) are the ones who created the blogs - not the readers who went in to read for entertainment or for the laughs.
Should there be a lawsuit, please do not hurt (sue) the readers as they are no law that stated which sites we cannot read and so on. (you get the drift...)
and if it is possible, try not to have a lawsuit - really, money can be used in a much better way than this.

now we only visit the anti-DY sites to check their updates - reason is simple - we will update you in the event that you are busy with your work.

And the funny part is her pc caught the virus because of a link to the awful plastic surgery website.
